OUGD402 | Studio brief 02 - Who am I?

To begin the brief, I made a quick mind map and noted down my first ideas when I thought of describing myself and my interests. I think that most people would describe me as a very happy person who is always laughing, whose main interests are cats and flowers - I'm definitely a girl.
I am usually found in a coffee shop of some sort or shopping on the high street. I have a very adventurous side to me, I would also describe myself as a very independent person.

I feel that I could incorporate my interesting name into the brief. My actual name is Sophie-Grace, however I have always been known as Gracie. I could potentially play around with both these names and the initials/letters in each. I do not feel that there is anything outstanding about my appearance that could be brought into the brief - maybe I could ask others if there is anything defining about how I look to get a different perspective.

The brief suggests that I need to communicate what skills I currently have. I feel that it is quite difficult to define a skill level on programs such as photoshop. But I feel that I have the basic skills required for good graphic design on Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. I think that my photography skills are not quite strong enough to advertise myself as a photographer. It seems most appropriate to describe myself as a graphic designer/illustrator as these are where my strongest interests and skills currently lie. However, I do not want to close myself off to other forms of design so I may add something along the lines of 'creative' to keep my design options open.

I plan to keep brainstorming ideas as I design during this brief as ideas about how I can communicate myself may not appear obvious to me right now. I will begin by researching designers that interest me, as well as sketching lots of potential ideas.
